GTA 6 leaks explained: every major leak, spoiler-free
What leaked, when, how Rockstar responded — and the fake numbers you should ignore. No story spoilers, no leaked footage.

GTA VI is one of the most leaked games in history. Here's every major leak explained — what came out, how Rockstar and Take-Two responded, and which viral claims are simply fake. This page contains no story spoilers, and we never host or link leaked footage.
Our rules for leaks
We report that something leaked and why it matters. We don't embed, link or describe leaked story content, and we label every claim by how reliable it is: Official, Reliable report or Rumor.

The 2026 “Cyberleek” wave
The leaks that started in August 2026 are the most serious since 2022. Rockstar addressed them directly on August 26, calling them “heartbreaking” for the team, confirming the footage was genuine and making clear the release date wasn't moving. Take-Two went to court: on August 20 it asked a federal judge in New York to force Microsoft and Discord to reveal information about the leaker, and in September asked for a further subpoena to stay sealed so it wouldn't tip off the people involved.
In October the leaks escalated. On October 8 a 25-minute clip from a development build appeared online; VGC, which reviewed it, said it appeared authentic, though a tank spawned in a river suggests the build may have been modified. It showed first-person driving — notable because Rockstar North's Rob Nelson had said in August that there would be no full first-person mode at launch. Two days later the leaker tried to tie a full release of the game to the price of a meme coin; on October 14, after missing that target, he posted clips from the final missions and announced there would be no build.
If you want to go in blind, avoid social media searches for “GTA 6 ending” until launch.
What the leaks don't change
- The release date: still November 19, 2026.
- The game itself: Rockstar has said the leaked material comes from work-in-progress builds; finished content may differ.
- Your pre-order: nothing changes about editions or bonuses — see our price and editions guide.
Fake or unverified claims to ignore
- Trophy and achievement lists: none had been published on any official store as of October 15, 2026. The lists going around are made up.
- File size: Rockstar hasn't announced one. A “676.7 GB” figure has been called a hoax; the leaker's “200+ GB build” claim is unverified.
- “39 million pre-orders / $3 billion”: no primary source. Take-Two has never shared a pre-order number.
