GTA 6 map and characters: Leonida's regions and the full cast
Six regions, one state inspired by Florida — and the people you'll meet there. Everything Rockstar has officially revealed.

GTA VI takes place in Leonida, Rockstar's sun-soaked, chaotic take on Florida. Here are the six regions Rockstar has officially revealed, the people you'll meet there, and how the new six-star wanted system works.
The six regions of Leonida
| Region | What we know |
|---|---|
| Vice City | Leonida's biggest city and the heart of the game — beaches, nightlife and neon, inspired by Miami |
| Leonida Keys | A chain of islands at the southern tip of the state, where Jason works for drug runners |
| Grassrivers | Leonida's wetlands, inspired by the Everglades |
| Port Gellhorn | One of the regions on the official map; Rockstar has shown only glimpses so far |
| Ambrosia | Another official region, outside the big city |
| Mount Kalaga | A national park on the northern fringes of the state, with “prime hunting, fishing, and off-road trails” |
Rockstar's edition pages also name smaller places such as Ocean Beach, Shore Drive, Watson Bay, Lake Leonida, Stockyard, Gambit Bay, Washington Beach and Southside Vice City.
How big is the map? Rockstar hasn't said. Preview impressions of “about twice GTA V” and fan estimates of around 118–132 square miles are unconfirmed — we'll update this page with official numbers as soon as they exist. When the game launches, our interactive Leonida map will mark every collectible, shop and secret.
The characters
| Character | Who they are |
|---|---|
| Jason Duval | Protagonist. An Army veteran working for drug runners in the Keys |
| Lucia Caminos | Protagonist. Just released from Leonida Penitentiary |
| Cal Hampton | Jason's friend — a conspiracy-minded homebody |
| Boobie Ike | A Vice City figure with an empire of real estate, a strip club and a recording studio |
| Dre'Quan Priest | An aspiring music mogul at Only Raw Records |
| Real Dimez | Rap duo Bae-Luxe and Roxy |
| Raul Bautista | A bank robber |
| Brian Heder | A veteran smuggler, who works alongside his wife Lori |
Jason and Lucia are a couple, and the game lets you switch between them. Rockstar has kept most of the story under wraps — and we're keeping this guide spoiler-free.
The six-star wanted system
The 27-minute Extended Look showed how the police work in Leonida. According to Rockstar North's Rob Nelson:
- the wanted level goes up to six stars, one more than GTA V;
- on-screen icons show what the police know — your face, your clothes, your car, and whether Jason and Lucia are together;
- police only react to crimes that are witnessed or trigger an alarm;
- when you break line of sight the stars turn red, and swapping cars removes the car from your description.
