What's in the Ultimate Edition
The extra $20 buys a long list of in-game content, according to Rockstar's official site:
- Vehicles and garages: a '95 Grotti Cheetah; Jason's safehouse vehicles (a Dinka Enduro motorcycle and a Crest kayak); a Shitzu Squalo boat with a weapons crate; a '67 Vapid Dominator Buggy with the Paradise Garage in Watson Bay.
- Weapons: Hawk & Little Morgan revolvers and personalized Girardi ES9 and Klose K17 pistols.
- Style: Vice City Style outfits and tattoos, plus Goodtime Gear (Macca the Gator apparel).
- Exclusive businesses: the Rideout Customs and One-Eyed Willie's mod shops, Sara's Unisex Salon, the Stock 305 clothing store and the Electric Fang Tattoo parlor (designs by the art duo FAILE).
- Activities: a raid on the PTT Youngin$ illegal goods store and gang compound, and a Classic Car Collection commission from the fixer Wyman.
- Ganado Retro Build modkit.
None of it is required to finish the story — it's a head start and a lot of cosmetics.
The pre-order bonus: Vintage Vice City Pack
Everyone who pre-orders, or buys before November 20, 2026, gets the Vintage Vice City Pack: a '55 Vapid Stanier with a Shore Court garage near Ocean Beach, classic outfits and hairstyles for Jason and Lucia, and the “Channel the Original Kingpin” weapon pattern inspired by Tommy Vercetti's famous shirt from Vice City. Digital pre-orders also get a free month of GTA+, which applies to the existing GTA Online.
Physical edition: no disc in the box
If you're buying a boxed copy, know what's inside: the physical edition is a download code in a box, available from November 12, 2026. Boxed copies have already shown as sold out at some US retailers, including Amazon US and many Target stores, according to RockstarINTEL.
How many pre-orders?
Take-Two hasn't published a number. In August it described pre-order demand as “unprecedented and astonishing” but declined to give figures, noting that pre-orders can be cancelled. Viral numbers like “39 million pre-orders” have no official source — treat them as rumor.
Extras: controllers and the collector's box
- DualSense controllers: Sony makes two Grand Theft Auto VI Limited Edition DualSense controllers (Black and White) at $84.99 / €84.99 / £74.99, launching November 19.
- The Goodtime State – Vice City Collection: a $399.99 collector's box sold by Rockstar that does not include the game and ships after launch.
- Console bundles: we found no official Sony or Microsoft console-and-game bundle as of October 15, 2026; some retailers sell their own.
