GTA 6 Launch Trailer is out: watch it and everything it shows
A surprise drop 35 days before launch: Jason and Lucia, a car-to-plane leap, heists, chases — and a Justice track with Tame Impala, SZA and King Gizzard.
Rockstar Games released the Grand Theft Auto VI Launch Trailer without any warning on Thursday, October 15, 2026 — exactly 35 days before the game comes out on November 19, 2026 for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. Here it is.
What the Launch Trailer shows
The trailer runs about a minute and a half and puts the two protagonists, Jason Duval and Lucia Caminos, front and center. Early breakdowns highlight:
- more of Jason's army background, a part of his story the earlier trailers only hinted at;
- a spectacular car-to-plane leap, one of the most shared moments of the day;
- heists and police chases across Vice City and the rest of Leonida;
- a final shot of the pair jumping off a balcony together.
Like everything Rockstar has shown so far, it was captured in-game on PlayStation 5. We are keeping this breakdown spoiler-light: nothing here goes beyond what the trailer itself shows.
The song
Every GTA VI trailer has been built around one track, and the music choices have become a talking point of their own:
| Video | Song |
|---|---|
| Trailer 1 (Dec 2023) | Tom Petty — “Love Is a Long Road” |
| Trailer 2 (May 2025) | The Pointer Sisters — “Hot Together” |
| Launch Trailer (Oct 2026) | Justice — “Flower in a Hurricane” feat. Tame Impala, SZA and King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard |
Music is a big part of the launch push: a week earlier Rockstar revealed the game's first radio stations and in-game podcasts, and Grand Theft Auto VI: The Album comes out on November 19 alongside the game.
Trailer 3 or Launch Trailer?
Fans have been waiting for a “Trailer 3” for more than a year, and that's what most people are calling this video. Rockstar's official title is simply “Grand Theft Auto VI Launch Trailer”. It's the fourth major GTA VI video, after Trailer 1, Trailer 2 and the 27-minute An Extended Look that premiered on Netflix in August. You can watch all of them in order in our complete GTA 6 trailers guide.
