GTA 6 physical edition: no disc, just a download code in the box
Rockstar's support page is clear: the physical version has no disc. Here is what you get, what changes for collectors and resale, and what is still unknown.
The physical edition of GTA VI has no disc: the box contains a download code, according to Rockstar's own support page. Boxed copies are listed from November 12, 2026, a week before the November 19 launch, so buyers can pre-load.

What it means for you
- No offline install. Without a disc, everything is downloaded. Check the pre-load and file size guide and plan your storage.
- Collectors. The box is a keepsake with a code inside, not a playable disc. It will not work as a game on its own once the code is used.
- Resale and lending. A code can be redeemed only once. A used box may hold a spent code, so treat second-hand copies with caution.
- Store accounts. The code is entered in the PlayStation or Xbox store; check region requirements on the retailer or platform page before buying abroad.
Scams and fakes
One outlet (GTABoom) reports counterfeit boxed sets circulating in China. That is a single-source report, but the advice is general: buy sealed copies from trusted retailers and never pay for "early access" codes.

Can I install GTA 6 offline from the box?
No. With no disc, the game must be downloaded using the code, so you need an internet connection and enough storage.
