GTA 6 pre-load moves up to November 10: 212 GB and unlock times

Rockstar has moved GTA VI's digital pre-load to November 10, 2026, two days earlier than the November 12 date given in June, and says the download is up to 212 GB. The announcement, covered on November 3 by PlayStation Blog and outlets such as The Verge, VGC and GamesRadar+, does not change the launch: November 19, 2026 on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S.

What is official

Because PS5 follows local midnight, players in New Zealand and Asia can start first and the Americas last. Xbox owners all start at the same moment. Rockstar notes that storage needs vary by device, and the figure may change with later updates, so keep a margin beyond 212 GB.

212 GB settles the size question

On October 27 a PlayStation Store tracker had pointed to about 210 GB on PS5, which we covered as a reliable report. Rockstar's own number, up to 212 GB, lands just above it. Our pre-load and file size guide and the storage calculator will help you plan.

What about boxed copies?

The physical edition is still a download code in a box. Retail copies are due from November 12, so boxed buyers can pre-load only from then, after redeeming the code. Digital buyers get the two extra days.

The Leonida map and poster

Rockstar also announced an official printable cover-art poster and map of Leonida. Per reports (Push Square, Beebom, GTABoom), it is a free digital download on the official site from November 19. A double-sided physical version is planned shortly after launch, reportedly $0.99, or free with any Rockstar Store purchase; the exact date is not set. Boxed copies do not include it.

What to do now

1. Free up at least 212 GB, ideally 250 GB. Check the release date guide for the full timeline.
2. Mark November 10, not the 12th, in your calendar if you bought digitally.
