GTA 6 file size: PS5 listing data points to 210 GB (now confirmed: 212 GB)
Several outlets report 210 GB for the PS5 version, taken from PlayStation Store back-end data. Rockstar has not published a size, so plan for it but wait for confirmation.
Update November 3, 2026: Rockstar has now confirmed a size of up to 212 GB. See pre-load moves to November 10.
GTA 6 is about 210 GB on PS5, according to PlayStation Store data reported on October 27, 2026. The figure comes from the tracker account PlayStation Game Size and was picked up by GamesRadar+, Dexerto, GameSpot and RockstarINTEL; Insider Gaming says it corroborated the number independently. Rockstar has not published a size.
What is known
| Item | Status | Detail |
|---|---|---|
| PS5 size: about 210 GB | Reliable report | Store back-end data via PlayStation Game Size; Insider Gaming corroborates |
| Rockstar confirmation | None | No download size in any Rockstar announcement we found |
| Xbox Series X|S size | Unknown | Not reported; may differ from PS5 |
| Standard edition price | Official | $79.99 (US), per Rockstar |
| Pre-load | Official | Opens November 10, 2026 for digital pre-orders (updated Nov 3) |
| Launch | Official | November 19, 2026 on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S |
Some headlines, such as ComicBook.com's, say the size was “officially revealed”. We found no Rockstar statement behind that wording: the number is store data, not a company announcement. An earlier 244.86 GB figure from September has no clear origin, so we treat it as unverified.
Why it matters
At 210 GB the game would take up roughly a third of the usable space on a base PS5, according to GameSpot's reporting, so many players will need to delete games or add storage before pre-load. Size on disk and size to download can also differ, and a day-one patch is possible, so leave some headroom.
What to do now
- Plan for 210 GB plus a margin, and check your free space with our storage calculator.
- Start clearing space before November 10, when pre-load opens.
- Wait for Rockstar or the Xbox listing before deciding on an external drive for Series X|S.
