GTA 6 Vice City takeover spreads across Miami: blimp, beach gear and banner planes
One month before the November 19 launch, the Vice City campaign has moved from rooftop signs and cars to the sky and the sand of South Beach.

Rockstar’s Vice City campaign in Miami has reached the sky and the beach. Around October 19, 2026, a month before the November 19 launch, Vice, Gfinity and GTABoom described a Goodyear blimp with Vice City branding over South Florida, branded beach umbrellas and chairs on Miami Beach and planes towing NINE1NINE banners over South Beach. Rockstar has not commented on any of it.
What has been reported
| Activation | Where | Status |
|---|---|---|
| “Welcome to Vice City” rooftop sign | Kaseya Center, downtown Miami | Reliable report (installed Sept 22, CBS Miami) |
| Real cars styled as GTA VI vehicles | Miami streets | Reliable report (Oct 16) |
| Vice City-branded blimp | Over South Florida | Reliable report (Vice, Gfinity, Oct 19) |
| Branded umbrellas and chairs | Miami Beach | Reported; rollout timing from a single worker quoted by GTABoom |
| NINE1NINE banner planes | South Beach | Reported; source of the activation unconfirmed |
Outlets differ on some details, and GTABoom notes that the city deal behind the branding was reported as unsigned. Treat the beach and plane items as reports, not confirmations.
Why Miami
GTA VI is set in Leonida, the game’s version of Florida, with Vice City as its main city. The campaign blurs the line between the two: the Miami Heat even plan a Vice City night on November 18, the day before launch (per the reports above). Not everyone is happy: some Miami-Dade commissioners questioned the advertising deal, and one described it as portraying Miami “like a murder capital” (GameSpot).
What it means
Rockstar is leaning on physical stunts rather than a flood of new trailers. Expect more sightings in the next four weeks. For the earlier phase of the campaign, see our Miami cars report; for the countdown and unlock times, our release date guide has everything confirmed.
