GTA 6 cars are driving through real Miami: Rockstar’s Vice City takeover

A police-liveried Lamborghini, a Coquette with Leonida plates and a “Welcome to Vice City” sign on the Heat’s arena: five weeks before launch, Miami is turning into Vice City.

Real cars dressed as GTA VI vehicles are cruising the streets of Miami. On October 16, 2026, footage shared by fans and picked up by Insider Gaming, Push Square and Game Rant showed a Lamborghini in Vice Beach Police livery and a Corvette styled as the in-game Coquette, complete with a Vice City-style wrap and a Leonida license plate. None of the cars carries a GTA logo, and Rockstar has not commented — but with launch five weeks away, the message is hard to miss.

Part of a bigger Vice City takeover

The cars are the latest piece of a Miami campaign that has been building for weeks:

  • September 22, 2026: crews installed a “Welcome to Vice City” sign on the roof of the Kaseya Center, home of the Miami Heat (CBS Miami).
  • City banners: Miami commissioners voted to let Rockstar pay for permits for larger promotional banners, with the revenue going to a trail project in Overtown, according to CBS Miami.
  • Local debate: some Miami-Dade commissioners questioned the county’s advertising deal with Rockstar in early October, with one arguing it portrays Miami “like a murder capital”, as reported by VGTimes and others.

The real-world Miami is no accident: GTA VI is set in Leonida, the game’s take on Florida, and its main city is Vice City. See our map and characters guide for the regions confirmed so far.

What it means

Rockstar usually lets trailers do the talking. A street-level campaign with themed cars, rooftop signs and city banners is a sign of how big the final weeks before launch will be. Expect more of these stunts as November 19 approaches — and more fan sightings.

Vehicle names refer to in-game models; the cars spotted are real vehicles with themed wraps.
