GTA 6 spoilers: Rockstar's policy lets it remove story clips, even after launch

Outlets are pointing at Rockstar and Take-Two's copyright rules: standalone story clips can be removed, while longer playthroughs are treated differently. The rules are not new, but nobody knows how strictly they will be enforced.

Rockstar's existing copyright policy lets Take-Two request the removal of isolated GTA VI story clips, and nothing in it says the rules lapse after release, according to reports on November 3–4, 2026. TheGamer, DualShockers, tBreak and LibertyCity all point to the same text. It is a general policy, last updated in January 2025, not a rule written for GTA VI.

What the policy covers (as reported)

Content Reported treatment
Standalone clip of the ending Can be flagged for removal
Edited cutscene compilations / other big story reveals Can be flagged for removal
Pre-release footage (leaked in-game clips, early unboxings) Covered by the policy
Cutscenes inside a longer playthrough or narrated Let's Play Described as acceptable
Full playthroughs and streams Generally treated as safe

Creators unsure about a clip are told to contact Take-Two's copyright address listed in the policy.

What is not known

  • Enforcement. The game launches on November 19, 2026 (release date), so no GTA VI takedown has happened yet. Reports note that many GTA V ending videos stayed on YouTube after 2013, so past practice was uneven.
  • Conflicting claims. One outlet, EGW News, says all spoiler videos will be deleted at once. The other outlets describe case-by-case requests, and that reading matches the policy text, so treat the “delete everything” version as overstated.
  • Review period. Reviews are reportedly under embargo until November 18 (unconfirmed); the policy says nothing about that.

What it means for you

If you plan to stream or upload, keep story moments inside longer videos rather than posting stand-alone ending clips. If you want to avoid spoilers, expect clips to circulate anyway: our leaks tracker explains why we never link or describe leaked material, and the same no-spoiler rule applies on this site.

FAQ

Will Rockstar remove GTA 6 spoiler videos after launch?

Its copyright policy allows it, and it does not say the rules end at release. How strictly it will act on GTA VI is unknown until after November 19, 2026.

Can I stream or upload GTA 6 gameplay?

Per the policy as reported, full playthroughs, streams and narrated Let's Play videos that include cutscenes are generally fine. Standalone ending clips and edited cutscene compilations are what gets flagged.

Is this a new GTA 6 rule?

No. The reported text comes from Rockstar's general copyright policy, last updated in January 2025, which covers all its games. It is newly noticed, not newly written.
